The giant tun shell, Tonna galea, is found in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific oceans.  Tonna galea shells or Tun shells are thinner and usually roomier than helmet shells.  Tonna galea shells are almost exclusively tropical and prefer deeper water and feed mainly on fish, sea urchins and crustaceans.  We carry tonna from 3 inches up to 8 inches in length.  These brown pretty shells are light weight and make perfect homes for hermit crabs and are perfect for coastal home decorating and make a perfect seashell centerpiece for wedding reception tables.
